Very good day for both Boys & Girls. Our Ave. Team time of 15:49.33 was .5 Sec. behind a very good  Shenedehowa team and would be 11th on our all time Saratoga list. Noah Carey Qualifies for States.

Wed 7/23 Camp Canceled

With the severe weather, we are canceling camp tonight.  See you Monday.

Nationals Results

Congrats to the athletes that competed at the New Balance Track Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Guilderland was well represented.  Here are the results:

 

Girls 4x8:  9:21     2nd out of 52 teams in emerging elite

Boys SMR      13 out of 42 teams in emerging elite

Noah T.  4:45.97    6th out of 26           Top 7th grader

Noah Carey   9:25 (roughly 9:20.9 at the 3200m mark, less than a second away from the state freshman record), 2nd place in a great race   (4:38 1st 1600, 4:43 2nd 1600)

Emily Burns   Steeple  7:04   6th overall (All-American Status)

Noah Carey   4:26   3rd place

Everyone ran well.  8 of the 10 kids who went are underclassmen...so big things for the future.

2014 XC Info

High School Cross Country Meeting is Tuesday, May 27th. Everyone interested in running must be there. If you can not attend see Coach Kosier.

2014 XC Informational Meeting

XC Meetings

There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday 5/20 from 3:30-4:05 at the FMS Library for all Fansworth runners interested in running Cross Country next Fall.  At this meeting we will discuss many topics about the program.  All 6 and 7th graders need to be cleared by going through a Selective Classification process.  8th graders must get cleared by the nurse.  This will all be explained at the meeting.  Parents are welcomed.

The High School meeting will be Th 5/22 in the East Gym from 2:30-3:10.  EVERYONE interested in running must attend.  New policies will be discussed( Skye Farm, Attendence, Starting time, Joining the team, etc..)

Skye Farm Dates

Guilderland Cross Country will once again be returning to Skye Farm next year.  We were able to get our usual time Thursday 8/21-Su 8/24.  NOTE: This is a change from what we expected and printed in the books.  All Athletes must be cleared by the first day of practice to be considered.  This tradition has grown in popularity over the years and we have gotten to the point were we may need to consider limiting the number of athletes that can attend.  This process will be explained at the spring XC meeting.

Friday 1/3 Meet Cancelled

The Meet scheduled for Friday 1/3 has been postponed and reschedule for Jan 18 at 8:00 and Union College.

Practice Cancelled

With the snow storm expected to continue, there will not be practice Th Jan 2nd.  As of now, the bus will leave GHS at 6:30.  Please plan on arriving early to work on the lineup.  Check back tomorrow to see if there are additional cancellations.
